It just occurred to me (though, I doubt I'm the first person to realize this) - if you're going for every available achivement in FFXIV then that will eventually involve doing Ultimates. That's something I look forward to. Unless Cider's already done them and I somehow never noticed.

Ahhh! The Aetherochemical Research Facility in roulette! So many wipes! Healers rage quitting even when they were the one dying! So many times when the group committed to complete the run but in the end we run out of time, and fail. Good times! I think the weirdest thing it happened to me there was that time when we have FINALLY progressed enough to face the sphere, and the tank stood right next to me, a squishy black mage, which already had got some hits, I'm guessing it was the tankbuster he shared with me what killed me instantly

AST GCD AOE is tied to job quest. You don't get Gravity unless you do your job quests

my favorite part of nabrieles isn't using the lb3 wrong but its watching the dps run to try and soak the falling meteors even after being told not to do that multiple times. If they focus on the dps check it can go fine without lb3, it becomes a fiasco when they don't do that. and I don't necessarily expect people to know to do that automatically, but when they've been told! multiple times! and I've seen several of them interact with the chat so I know they know how to look at it.

For keeping up with the extra voice clips dubbed over the videos, I super appreciate also having them cut off with the scene changes too. It makes me giggle.

Regarding dead content: Look at the Deep Dungeons. If you try to queue with randos, it certainly feels dead. Even with the ultimog challenge this last month, you'll basically never actually find a queue. But that doesn't mean Deep Dungeons are dead content. They have their own dedicated communities that are more than happy to keep playing them for several years to come. I imagine Eureka will eventually go that way, too. You won't be able to just hop in on a whim, but the Eureka community will stick around and coordinate to set up groups for various things for several more expansions.

Typically in Porta, you also get LB before the phase change. It resets at phase change anyway, so you can have three LBs in that fight.

The real pain is running Dzemael Darkhold with the Command Mission squadron. Almost impossible to get the tank to not fight in the explodey crystals, also a huge pain to get the tank and the Ahriman into the purple area. By the time I manage to drag the tank into the purple, it's about to disappear anyway.

Never once have I run Nabriales and completed it first try. It's basically a law of physics that someone will waste the LB. I've even seen a tank LB3 a few times.

I think I heard somewhere that the death of the comic industry can be traced back to a shift in distribution. Before they where sold anywhere magazines where so anyone with a passing interest could read them. Then at some point they where only carried in specialty "comic book" stores which were frequented by only by people dedicated enough to go to such a place.

A few days ago I had a rathalos ex that took 51 minutes. =D That's the worst I've had so far. For example, the two sprouts I was helping through it, discovered party chat /p at lvl 70 And only took like 12 tries to get them to use it.

Whenever I get ala mhigo and we get to zenos I make everyone not go in and say, "for tradition". I then pull him out of the boss area and have him chase me around until he goes back in. Sprouts LOVE it. Sad he doesn't stay out anymore

To be fair to the Dragoon with the fork in Aurum Vale, Dragoon doesn't get Doom spike until the level 40 job quest, so all the way up to Qarn/Cutters Cry you're just stuck with single target

I remember doing spirit bonding farms in ARR in Urths fount with the goal of getting grade iv determination materia (fun fact determination used to be the most powerful stat besides main stat) The grade iv det materia would sell for 500k-1mil a pop so you could make a crap tonne of gil especially when things like the Novus relic step were relevant.

They nerfed that Nabriales fight back in HW. You haven't had to LB the tear since then but lots of people still swear you do (just like people still think killing the boss pair not at the same time in Castrum matters years later). The tank generally will take high damage when he does a "triple" spark too because it hits 3 times in a row. Healers just need to toss a cure after the second one hits most times and you can face roll the rest even with tanks that don't use mitigations.

The best peanut butter is the one I buy at Aldi because it's half the price of other peanut butter. It also happens to be good.

Literally dreamt last night you released a video saying you were coming close to finishing all achievements and there was only one or two more videos left for the series.

Aurum Vale isn't hard when your gear is level synced. It's still going to be better than the gear you had when first entering AV. I'd just about guarantee that everyone's hatred of AV stems from PTSD from their first few attempts to run it. Especially if you're a fresh sprout and get an over-eager tank. It's also really ugly and I hate looking at it.
